How do you invest? What is the best website? what are stocks all about? how do you make money from them?

As the answer below states, you should start at investopedia.com. They are a very good resource for starting out. If you have cable TV in the United States (or elsewhere), you should find CNBC on cable TV. They have a major US cable station and CNBC worldwide, that follows stock markets in Asia, Europe and the United States. You can also follow them on their website for all kinds of financial and political news that affects the financial markets.

I have also included a few more, marketwatch and smart money.

How to buy stocks for dummies etc? What is the least amount of money that you can invest in?

By admin · April 5, 2010 · Filed in Stocks · 5 Comments »

I would like to learn the basics of buying stocks or learning how to buy stocks that would give me a good return on my investment. The issue is I would like to know if there is any solid advice one should know before investing in as well.

More or less I would like to know how you can buy stocks online as well. Do they charge a fee for one stock at a time to buy online or you can pay a monthly fee to trade stocks for a set price?

asking a question like that tells me you should stay far away from the stock market. But highly volatile stocks are likely to either kick your ass or make you some money

How do I find stocks that pay exceptionally high dividends?

By admin · April 1, 2010 · Filed in Stocks · 5 Comments »

I’m looking for stocks that pay a dividend in excess of 15% (I’ve had them as high as 24%, so I know they exist). Of course, I want this dividend to be paid from profit, instead of the business taking out a loan for it.

I am NOT INTERESTED in buying a stock with the intention of selling it. My interest is income. I want to buy the stock, and be able to retire on the dividends… with enough shares, that is.

Got any ideas?

You’re considering a very risky strategy for your investments. Dividends can be volatile if a company has financial problems and need to cut them right away. This is a two edge sword. Whne the dividends are cut, investors scare and sell and the price of the stock drops like a rock.

What you should be looking for is dividend consitency and rate of growth of dividends. Telechart can screen for this and many other criteria that the investor is interested in.

Just for you, I have screened over 8000 stocks with dividends paying>10% and have been growing at an average 5 year rate of 15%. Here they are…

What stocks should I buy up now that we’re still in a reccession and the stock market is still down in places?

By admin · March 30, 2010 · Filed in Stocks · 2 Comments »

I want to know if there are any possible stocks that I could buy now, now that some blue-chip stocks are still cheap such as really hammered ones that were hit bad in the global reccession like Freedie Mac, Fannie Mae, Citigroup, some other banking and insurance companies, just anything that looks poised for enormous % returns as we recover from the reccession? Please help/advise. Thanks.

I would shoot for clean energy (GREEN) companies if I were you. The Obama Administration will be moving their agenda to alternative energy jobs within the year – in fact, it’s beginning already with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act!

Corporations who are devoted to clean energy is where to put your money.

Does anyone know good stocks to invest in and how are mutual funds good to invest in?

By admin · March 28, 2010 · Filed in Stocks · 5 Comments »

I wanna know what stocks are starting from low and are starting to climb up before it reaches its peak. Like gold minning, technologies, biotech, energy, computers, websites, natural resources, good chinese and indonesia stocks too. If chinese and vietnamese currency is good to invest in and mutual funds to. I know house market is down but do u think its good to buy b/c its pretty low stocks from before.

Long Term Stock to hold, I have found Proctor and Gamble (PG) to be a relatively stable and productive investment.

Mutual Funds are good because they invest in the stocks of numerous companies, thus diversifying your investment.
I own many.

For a risky short term gain, I’ve made $700.00 in CCTC in a month and a half with a $500.00 investment.
Sold part of my shares today to get my $500 investment out. Now I play with the $700 I made.
Very Risky Investment though !
It might be at it’s high now. Who Knows?

If you can’t afford to lose any of your investment, go to a bank C.D. or Money Market Account.

I don’t know about foreign currency or investing in the housing market.
Good Luck.

DRIP’s are not safe! They are purchasing stock in a company w/o a Broker but directly from the company. Cheaper Yes, safe No. You can’t sell quickly either.
Reinvest dividends let’s you build more shares which is good.
Good place to start, like I did.

What are some of the best stocks to buy right now (july 2009) in order to profit when the recovery takes place?

By admin · March 26, 2010 · Filed in Stocks · 3 Comments »

Which stocks are you buying? My impression is that buying stocks cheaply now can increase your portfolio tenfold when things get back to normal. But some stocks will rise higher than others of course.Which are the most undervalued stocks right now?

GE is a good choice, but also put money in commodities, such as Metal, Oil etc.. Since at the moment China and India are developing quickly they’ll be using automobiles more, and the governments recovery plan, so putting it in an oil company such as Shell would be smart. Apple is also good. I’ve put 250 dollars in a clothing brand called American Apparel, it looks to have some kind of future as well, at least i hope so

What retail stocks are doing good in the market?

By admin · March 24, 2010 · Filed in Stocks · 3 Comments »

I need to pick a retail market for school and I would like to know if there are any particular stocks that I should know about to pick. I would like a stock that is doing good.

Nordstrom does OK since it’s clientele tend to be recession proof,

Amazon.com will likely continue to perform well as the economy improves and Wal-Mart will trudge along,,

True Religion and Abercrombie & Fitch will likely to do better when the young crowd start buying stuff again,

Other than getting lucky retail stocks are pretty much a pick-em’ ,,,
